In Cluj-Napoca, an artistic event brings to the forefront diverse visions and innovation in the exhibition ”Grandpa’s Freestyled Fairy Story”. The event is part of the project ”Entrepreneurial Skills for Young Artists”, carried out with co-financing from the European Union and coordinated by the Cosmic House Foundation (Romania) and Ab Ovo Közművelődési Egyesület (Hungary). The exhibition will be hosted by The Cosmic House Gallery, located at 106 General Eremia Grigorescu Street, and will be open to the public starting with the opening on April 26 at 5:00 PM.
”Grandpa’s Freestyled Fairy Story” brings together the works of 29 artists from Romania and Hungary, creating an artistic space that transcends the boundaries of a fixed narrative. This exhibition presents a story built on the intertwining of distinct worlds and characters, offering a shared creative experience that preserves the authenticity of each creator and their work.
Curated by artist Tudor Costin, the exhibition explores the concept of a fluid and unstructured story, inspired by the tradition of the folk fairy tale. Through a flexible narrative that allows improvisation and adaptation, ”Grandpa’s Freestyled Fairy Story” blends diverse creative universes, offering a return to the expressive freedom of orality and merging distinct characters and worlds into a common artistic endeavor.
The exhibition includes works by: Elena Daniela Acatrinei, Friedrich Barnabás, Mihályi Bálint, Sabrina Dâscă, Anda Gherman, Viktória Geröly, Vlăduț Gicoveanu, Andreea Grigoraș, Fanni Herold, Villő Juhász, Laura Laviv, Daniél Lebeda, Eva Maria Luca, Tamás Mezei, Dávid-Lehel Miholcsa, Ema Moroșan, Ida-Anamaria Olteanu, Adina Oros, Péter Zoltán Öllinger, Ida Zsuzsanna Papp, Iulia Dana Pușcașu, Laura Schlemmer, Anouk-Irina Șerban, Zita Szabó, Imola Szilágyi, Maria-Elena Șofrac, Csilla Bartus, Daniella Grinberg, and Péter Papp. Each artist contributes a distinct vision to the collective story, exploring varied themes and styles that reflect the diversity and complexity of human experiences.
”Entrepreneurial Skills for Young Artists” is an Erasmus Plus project dedicated to developing the entrepreneurial skills of young artists. Over the course of 16 months, 16 workshops were organized in Cluj-Napoca and Budapest, led by experts in visual arts, culture, and economics. The exhibition ”Grandpa’s Freestyled Fairy Story” marks the final stage of this project, offering artists the opportunity to showcase their works and promote their careers in an international context. This initiative contributes to integrating young talents into the European cultural scene and facilitates networking and collaboration between artists and the global cultural environment.
We invite you to discover and celebrate creative diversity and innovation at the exhibition ”Grandpa’s Freestyled Fairy Story”. We look forward to having you join us on April 26 at The Cosmic House Gallery, where fascinating artistic visions will converge in a collective story, opening new horizons in contemporary art.
